What is a Google Group List? 

Google Apps groups serve as mailing lists that allows you to easily send messages to frequently contacted groups of people. These groups can also be used for access control to sites that are owned by or only for use by a specific group of people. You can add email addresses from within or outside your domain to a group, and you can even make one group a member of another group so this makes Google Group a great tool for managing announcements, private team communications, or open discussion lists:


The right to send an email with Google groups can be restricted by:
  • Owners: Allows only the owner of the list to send messages
  • Members: Allows people in the group to send messages only (members)
  • cgxchange.org users: Anyone in the CGXchange.org domain can send a message to the list
  • Any email address: Any email in the world can send a message to the list

Please keep in mind that the normal sending limits apply to messages sent to groups, and that each recipient on a list is counted when you send to the group.


How can I request a Google Group List?

The CGXchange administrators can help you create a Google Group List. Note that your new list will have this format: listname@cgxchange.org
