GMail provides you with the
option to copy/ synchronize your CGIAR.ORG mailbox to CGXchange. There are 2 ways
of doing this: A. Google Email Uploader: Install the Google Email Uploader which allows you to select all your Exchange folders and PST files on your computer. Click here for instructions on: How to copy your Exchange Mailbox to CGXchange NOTE: when you are using the
Google Email Uploader, your Outlook must be closed during the upload process.
Be aware that this upload process may take several hours depending on the size
of your mailbox, PST folders and connectivity. We recommend you move your
mailbox first, and then the PST. Please contact your local Helpdesk for any help you may require on this
process. B. IMAP Migration for Exchange Administrators - tthis method enables domain administrators to transfer the existing contents of users' mailboxes from an IMAP server to Google Apps. This method doesn't require users to install a tool. The Exchange administrators can do this procedure for you directly from Exchange only if the server has IMAP enabled. Read more NOTE: With this method the administrators can only import the mailbox, not the PST files Copy mail from GMail to Outlook:C. GMAIL IMAP: Once you have your mail in Gmail you can synchronize your Gmail account using Outlook 2003/Outlook 2007. You can create a new account in your existing MS Outlook setup to connect to your CGXchange account using IMAP. Once this is done, your CGXchange account will appear like 'another set of personal folders'. You will need to use your complete x.xxx@cgxchange.org account as a user name. Be careful with the 'drag and drop' feature when transferring mail between PST folders and GMail - the standard functionality will move, while you probably want to copy instead.. |
