Import a Google calendar into your Calendar on CGX 2.0

You can import any existing Google calendars in to your cgxchange.org account, for example from your personal Gmail or your cggmail.org account.

Existing events in a calendar are exported in iCalendar format (with .ICS file extension), an exchange standard for calendaring and scheduling information.

To import a Google calendar, please follow these instructions:

1. Sign in to your Gmail account and click on the Calendar link. On the left-hand bar of your Calendar page, locate My Calendar Settings

2. From the Calendar Settings - Calendar window, click on Export Calendars:

3. A box will open asking you to open or save the file. Click on Save: this will download your calendar files as a .ZIP file.

4. When you have saved the .ZIP file on your computer, unzip the file: this will extract the .ICS files for every calendar you have in your Gmail or cggmail.org account.

5. To import your calendars into your cgxchange.org account, go to http://calendar.cgxchange.org and from My Calendars click on Settings > Calendars.

6. Click on Import calendar.

7. Follow the three steps on the Import Calendar screen.

Step 1: Select file

Select the .ICS file you previously extracted and saved on your computer.

Step 2: Choose Calendar

Select the calendar where you want to add the imported events. If you want to keep that calendar separate from the ones you already have, you may want to create a new calendar with the same name before importing the calendar:

Step 3: Complete Import

Click on Import to complete the procedure.

8. Repeat steps 6-7 for every .ICS file you want to import.
